Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain an exceptional store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, pet interaction, and career pathing in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish).
- Maintain store cleanliness, face/fill products, stage merchandise, and support pricing/promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; handle sick pets and administer vet-directed medications.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physical demands: lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stand/walk extensively, handle animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
