Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs and handling live animals in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet customers and prepare pick-up orders.
- Provide direct pet care: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote merchandise, services, live pets, and events like adoptions.
- Ensure store cleanliness, pet safety, and immediate action for sick pets; assist across departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, with flexibility for varied shifts. Physical abilities include standing, lifting 50+ lbs, climbing ladders, and working in pet-filled environments with moderate noise and occasional wet conditions.
