Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Monrovia, CA, you'll engage pet parents, care for live pets, and maintain a welcoming store. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, evenings/weekends/holidays, and hands-on pet interaction in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Drive sales by recommending products, services, live pets, and promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain store standards: cleanliness, merchandising, facing/filling products, price changes.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, flexibility for varied shifts, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items required.
