Role Overview

As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, you'll engage pet parents and pets while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Share responsibility for store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct pet care. Enjoy flexibility in a dynamic retail environment with evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet and answer questions.
• Prepare online orders and ensure smooth pick-up.
• Provide pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish); administer vet-directed medications.
• Maintain cleanliness, face/fill products, stage new merchandise, support price changes.
• Recommend/sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safe environment; respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure. Physical demands: stand/walk, lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair. Reasonable accommodations available.
