Role Overview

As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents and pets, uphold our vision of pet safety and store excellence, and support operations. This entry-level role in our vibrant Niles store involves customer service, pet care, merchandising, and maintaining a clean, safe environment amid live animals and moderate noise.

Essential Physical Demands

Stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stoop, kneel, and handle pets. Exposed to pet hair, wet areas, and mechanical parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
• Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), administer vet-directed meds, and transport sick pets.
• Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Maintain cleanliness, recommend products/services/pets, and ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers.
• Assist across store areas, follow policies, and participate in recognition culture.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required – passion for pets is key. We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina. Love animals? Thrive in dynamic retail? You're a fit.
