Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in North Brunswick, NJ, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and care for live animals. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, cleaning habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and recover sales floor to standards.
- Handle emergencies like sick pets, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and physical stamina for standing, lifting, ladder use, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting. Depth perception and reasonable accommodations available.
