Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, pet interaction, and pathways to career advancement in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals).
- Stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and prepare online pickups.
- Recommend merchandise, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoptions.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and respond to pet health issues promptly.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50lbs+, standing, climbing). Comfort with animals, wet environments, and moderate noise essential.
