Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet interaction, and pathways to career advancement in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, face/fill products, stage new merchandise, and support price changes/promotions.
- Recommend and sell merchandise, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle live animals in a dynamic environment.
