Role Overview

As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe environment. This entry-level position suits animal lovers with flexible availability, involving customer engagement, pet care, and store operations in a dynamic retail setting with live animals.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and sales at register.
• Provide direct care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
• Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes, and recover sales floor.
• Promote events like adoptions, Treats enrollment, and charity drives; recommend products and services.
• Ensure safety by monitoring pets, transporting sick/injured ones to vets, and maintaining cleanliness standards.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team-lifting for heavier items essential.
