Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate in Ottawa, Ontario, you'll be the friendly face of PetSmart, engaging pet parents and caring for store pets. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, perfect for students or those seeking part-time work, with opportunities to advance in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, face/fill products, stage merchandise, and support pricing/promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle live animals in a dynamic environment.
