Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate in Ottawa, Ontario, you'll be the friendly face of PetSmart, engaging pet parents and caring for store pets. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet experience, and paths to advancement in a dynamic retail environment focused on pet happiness and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover merchandise to standards.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and transport to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle live animals in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy store with pet hair and moderate noise.
