Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates in Palm Desert, CA, are the heart of the store, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences while caring for our live pets. This entry-level role offers flexibility, weekly pay, and a chance to work with animals daily in a dynamic retail setting. Stand, engage customers, handle pets, and keep the store spotless – all while building skills for future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, questions, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain merchandising standards: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
- Support all store areas, follow policies, and contribute to a clean, welcoming environment.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a love for pets! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work evenings/weekends/holidays. Exposure to animals, moderate noise, and wet/hairy environments is part of the fun. Reasonable accommodations available.
