Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Palmdale, California, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet interaction, and the chance to build a retail career in a fun, pet-loving atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, online, and at checkout.
- Provide daily care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards for associates, pets, and customers.
- Handle sick or injured pets promptly, transporting to vets as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in a pet-filled environment. Exposure to animals, moderate noise, and wet areas is common.
