Role Overview
Our part-time Pet Associates are the heart of the store, delivering outstanding customer experiences, maintaining pet safety standards, and keeping our Peoria location spotless. This entry-level role is perfect for animal lovers with flexible availability, involving hands-on pet care, sales, and store operations in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising tasks like stocking, facing products, price changes, and sales floor recovery.
- Promote events, recommend products/services/live pets, and ensure a safe environment for all.
- Respond to pet health issues promptly, including vet transport, and assist across store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a love for pets! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), and work evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include standing, climbing, stooping in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise and occasional wet/hairy conditions.
