Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Philadelphia, PA, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility, pet interaction, and pathways to leadership in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions including order pickups.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Ensure store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock merchandise per sales floor plans, and recover products.
- Recommend and sell products, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Depth perception and team-lifting for heavier items needed.
