Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Phoenix, AZ, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain an inviting store. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, perfect for animal enthusiasts eager to make an impact while balancing life commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Drive sales by recommending products, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Execute merchandising: stage products, face/fill shelves, handle price changes, and maintain cleanliness/safety standards.
- Respond to pet health issues, transport to vet if needed, and assist across store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items essential.
