Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers exceptional pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for in-store pets. Based in Phoenix, AZ, this entry-level role offers flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a focus on pet safety, sales, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and prepare online orders.
- Promote merchandise, services, live pets, and events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain cleanliness, ensure safety, and respond to sick/injured pets by transporting to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required, but pet enthusiasts thrive here. Must have strong communication, flexibility for varied shifts, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stand, climb, and handle animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
