Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate in Pinole, California, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, weekly pay, and paths to advancement in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feeding, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, and support price changes/promotions.
- Recommend merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety, respond to sick/injured pets, and assist across store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle live animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
