Role Overview
Our part-time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in Plano, Texas. You'll engage customers, care for live pets, maintain store standards, and drive sales in a fun, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is key in this entry-level role with physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding service in-person, phone, register, and online; greet customers and prepare pick-up orders.
- Handle pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals; administer vet-directed meds.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and maintain cleanliness/safety standards.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Respond to pet emergencies, ensure safe environments, and assist across store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a love for pets! Must have strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina for standing, lifting, climbing, and animal exposure. Specific vision (depth perception) and ability to work in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair.
