Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll deliver exceptional experiences for pet parents and their pets. Uphold PetSmart's vision by managing customer interactions, store operations, pet care, and safety. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, ideal for animal lovers seeking rewarding retail work.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online support; greet, answer questions, prepare pick-up orders.
- Provide direct pet care: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds; respond to sick pets.
- Maintain store standards: cleanliness, merchandising, facing/filling products, price changes, new arrivals.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; assist across store including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure. Physically demanding: stand/walk, lift 50lbs (team lift 100+), climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments. Depth perception essential.
