Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Porterville, California, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility and the chance to work with birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals while driving sales and promotions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats, and vet transports as needed.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and recommend merchandise/services/live pets.
- Maintain cleanliness, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment, and ensure safety standards.
- Assist across store areas including services, following all policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. We seek enthusiastic individuals with strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle pets in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
