Role Overview

As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) at our Red Deer store, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet interaction, customer service, and merchandising in a dynamic retail setting focused on pet happiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
• Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
• Maintain store cleanliness, face/fill products, stage new merchandise, and support price changes/promotions.
• Recommend products, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across store areas.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Vision for depth perception and team lifting for heavier items needed.
