Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Redding, California, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional experiences, and uphold our vision for pet care. Share in store maintenance, cleanliness, and direct pet care while supporting sales and services in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store standards through cleaning, merchandising, product facing, filling, recovery, and promotional pricing.
- Recommend and sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Vision for depth perception and tolerance for moderate noise, pet hair, and live animals essential.
