Role Overview
This part-time Pet Associate role focuses on exceptional pet parent experiences, store operations, and direct pet care. Uphold PetSmart's vision by ensuring safety, cleanliness, and sales excellence in a dynamic retail environment with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding service in-person, phone, register, and online; greet customers and answer questions.
- Handle pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain store standards: face/fill products, stage merchandise, execute price changes/promotions.
- Process online pickups, recommend/sell products/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions.
- Ensure safety: monitor pets, transport sick/injured to vet, assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physically demanding: lift 50lbs (team lift 100+), stand/walk/climb, handle animals in moderate noise/wet/hairy conditions. Depth perception essential.
