Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) at our Reno store, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming environment. This entry-level role is perfect for animal lovers with flexible availability, offering hands-on pet care, customer service, and retail operations in a dynamic pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, face/fill products, stage merchandise, and support pricing/promotions.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, with schedule flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Depth perception and composure are essential.
