Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates are the heart of the store, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences while caring for our live pets and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. Located in Rensselaer, New York, this entry-level role offers flexible hours perfect for pet lovers eager to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
- Keep the store spotless, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while ensuring safety for associates, pets, and customers.
- Assist in various store areas, respond to pet health issues, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a love for pets! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work evenings/weekends/holidays. Expect exposure to animals, moderate noise, wet areas, and pet hair. Reasonable accommodations available.
