Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Richmond, VA store, you'll deliver outstanding customer service, care for live pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, perfect for pet lovers eager to contribute to pet parent happiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Drive sales by recommending merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain store standards: cleanliness, merchandising, price changes, and safety for associates, pets, and customers.
- Respond to sick/injured pets and assist across store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a dynamic retail setting with moderate noise and pet hair.
