PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate in Roanoke, VA, engages pet parents, cares for store pets, and maintains a clean, safe store. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, evenings/weekends/holidays, and hands-on pet interaction in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote merchandise, services, events like adoptions.
- Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
- Support all store areas, including services, and follow company policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items.
