Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Rochester, NH store, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, weekly pay, and paths to advancement in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Drive sales by recommending products, services, live pets, and promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain store standards: cleanliness, merchandising, facing/filling products, price changes.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
