Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Rochester, NY store, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and care for live animals. This entry-level role offers flexibility, weekly pay, and paths to advancement in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising: stock products, face shelves, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
- Recommend products, services, and pets while supporting all store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
