Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver exceptional service, and maintain store standards. This entry-level role shares pet care, cleanliness, and sales duties in a dynamic pet retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain cleanliness, ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; handle sick pets promptly.
- Recommend products, services, and live pets while supporting all store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle live animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting. Physical demands include standing, stooping, and team-lifting over 100 lbs.
