Role Overview

As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Saint John, New Brunswick, you'll engage pet parents and pets, uphold our vision of exceptional care, maintain store standards, and support pet health and safety. This entry-level role offers flexibility and variety in a fun, pet-filled environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet, answer questions, prepare pick-up orders.
• Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), administer vet-directed medications.
• Maintain cleanliness, face/fill products, stage new merchandise, support price changes and promotions.
• Recommend/sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed; assist across store areas.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical capability to stand, lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting. Depth perception and team-lifting for heavier items required.
