Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in San Carlos, CA, delivers exceptional pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for live pets. Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and sales at register.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes/promotions.
- Promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment; recommend products/services/live pets.
- Uphold safety/cleanliness, respond to sick pets, and assist across store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Ideal candidates have strong communication, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and physical stamina for standing, lifting, ladder use, and animal exposure. Specific vision (depth perception) and teamwork in moderate-to-high noise environments essential.
