Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in San Diego, CA, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays while making a daily impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and handle sick/injured pets promptly.
- Recommend products, services, and live pets to boost sales.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, stand/walk extensively, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Ladder climbing and team lifts up to 100lbs common.
