Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in San Diego, CA, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for store pets, and maintain a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to advance in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
- Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and immediate action for sick/injured pets.
- Recommend products, services, and live pets to boost sales.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
