As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in San Jose, CA, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and care for live animals. This entry-level role offers flexibility, impact, and pet-filled days in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction via in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals.
- Stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
- Ensure safety, cleanliness, and recommend products/services; transport sick pets to vet as needed.
- Assist across store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in noisy/wet conditions). Vision for depth perception essential.
