Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for in-store pets. Based in Sanford, NC, this entry-level role offers flexible hours ideal for pet lovers seeking rewarding retail work.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Manage pet health: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Uphold cleanliness, recover merchandise, stage products, and support pricing/promotions.
- Sell products/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; handle sick pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb, stoop, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team-lifting for heavier items needed.
