Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers exceptional pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for live pets. Based in Santa Clarita, California, this entry-level role offers flexible hours, ideal for pet lovers seeking rewarding retail work.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and sales at register.
- Manage pet health: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Uphold cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick pets by transporting to vet if needed.
- Flex across store areas including services, following all policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Vision for depth perception and tolerance for noise/hair essential.
