Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Santa Rosa, CA, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences while caring for store pets and maintaining a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, ideal for animal lovers eager to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats—including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes, and recover sales floor.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety standards, respond to sick/injured pets, and support all store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments with moderate noise and occasional wet/hairy conditions. Vision for depth perception needed.
