Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents and their pets while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Share responsibility for store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct pet care. Enjoy flexibility in a dynamic retail environment where every day brings new opportunities to make moments that matter.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting. Reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, etc.), administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes and merchandising.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – entry-level role! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina. Pet lovers thrive here.
