Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) at PetSmart in Sarnia, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional service, and uphold our vision of pet care excellence. Share in store maintenance, pet safety, and direct animal care while supporting sales and operations in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover sales floor.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! You need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a lively store setting with moderate noise and pet hair.
