Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll deliver outstanding customer experiences, care for live pets, and maintain a clean, safe store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility and impact in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent service in-person, phone, register, and online pickups
- Care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals)
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events
- Recommend merchandise, services, live pets; administer vet-directed medications
- Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and immediate action on sick/injured pets
Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Flexible availability: evenings, weekends, holidays
- Composure under pressure
Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively, lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals, climb ladders, work in pet hair/wet environments with moderate-high noise.
