Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Scarborough, Ontario store, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for live pets, and maintain a clean, safe store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, perfect for animal lovers seeking rewarding retail work.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks: stock products, face shelves, handle price changes, and prepare online orders.
- Promote events like adoption weekends, Treats enrollment, and charity drives while recommending products and services.
- Maintain safety standards, respond immediately to sick/injured pets, and support all store areas including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, with flexibility for varied shifts. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking extensively, climbing ladders, and handling live animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
