Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Scarborough, Ontario store, you'll deliver exceptional pet parent experiences, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role suits animal lovers ready to thrive in a fast-paced retail setting with evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks: stock products, face shelves, handle price changes, and prepare online orders.
- Promote sales of merchandise, services, live pets, and events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness for associates, pets, and customers; respond to pet health issues promptly.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! You need strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Specific vision for depth perception and comfort with moderate noise/animal exposure essential.
