Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates (Pet Associates) are the heart of the store, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences while upholding our vision of pet safety, cleanliness, and outstanding service. Located in Scottsdale, Arizona, this role involves hands-on pet care, sales, and store operations in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide direct care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain merchandising standards by facing/filling products, staging new items, and supporting price changes/promotions.
- Promote events like adoption weekends, Treats enrollment, and charity drives while recommending products/services.
- Ensure safety by monitoring pets, transporting sick/injured animals to vets, and upholding cleanliness across the store.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a love for pets! Must have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Vision for depth perception and tolerance for moderate noise/wet conditions essential.
