Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for live pets, and keep our store thriving. This entry-level role offers flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, questions, online order prep, and sales.
- Provide hands-on care for birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed meds.
- Maintain merchandising standards: facing, filling, recovering products, price changes.
- Promote events like adoptions, Treats enrollment, and charity drives.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to pet health issues immediately.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in noisy/wet conditions). Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items.
