Role Overview
PetSmart's Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Seal Beach, CA, delivers exceptional pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct pet care. This entry-level role involves customer engagement, merchandising, and ensuring pet safety in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and sales at register.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed meds.
- Uphold cleanliness, face/fill products, stage merchandise, and support pricing/promotions.
- Promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment; recommend products/services/pets.
- Ensure safety: monitor pets, transport sick/injured to vet, and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50 lbs, climb, stoop, handle animals in noisy/wet environments). Depth perception and teamwork essential.
