Role Overview
Our Part-Time Retail Sales Associates are the heart of the store, delivering exceptional pet parent experiences while caring for live animals and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Based in Sherman Oaks, California, this entry-level role offers flexible hours perfect for pet lovers eager to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Keep the store spotless, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Recommend merchandise, services, and live pets while ensuring safety for associates, pets, and customers.
- Respond swiftly to pet health issues, including vet transport, and assist across all store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – just a love for pets! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), and work evenings/weekends/holidays. Expect standing, walking, ladder climbing, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Reasonable accommodations available.
