Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Simi Valley, CA, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store. This entry-level role offers flexibility, weekly pay, and paths to advancement while doing what you love.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and handle sick/injured pets promptly.
- Recommend products, services, and live pets to drive sales.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team-lifting for heavier items required.
