Role Overview
As a Part-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, perfect for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with hands-on pet interaction and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and prepare online pickups.
- Promote merchandise, services, live pets, and events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, flexibility for varied shifts, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise and occasional wet conditions.
